West Ham United are reportedly closing in on a deal with Shanghai Shenhua to sign former Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka.
The 33-year-old signed for the Chinese Super League outfit from the Blues in January but reports have suggested that the Frenchman has become disillusioned with life in Asia.
It is understood that the Hammers have conducted talks with the frontman over a return to the Premier League, according to the Daily Star.
Anelka, who played under West Ham boss Sam Allardyce during his time at Bolton Wanderers, currently acts as a player-assistant manager at Shenhua.
