Wigan Athletic manager Owen Coyle believes that his side should have won against Zulte Waregem in the Europa League on Thursday.
The Latics went down 2-1 to the Belgian outfit at the DW Stadium in Group D.
"On the balance of play we should have won, with the chances we created," BBC Sport quotes him as saying. "They were very good side but we controlled the game, and we had our destiny in our hands.
"Lee Nicholls made a mistake but we'll pick the kid up and we'll go again. There's no hiding place for goalkeepers, but its a team effort and I've told him he'll play again on Sunday. We have belief in him, but this game can kick you in the teeth.
"We'll do everything in our power in Maribor, and we'll look for Rubin Kazan to do us a favour in Belgium, but our fate's not in hands and that was the disappointing thing from tonight."
Wigan are currently third in Group D, two points behind second-placed Zulte.
