Wigan Athletic striker Grant Holt has admitted that one of the reasons he joined the club was to be involved in games such as their upcoming clash with Rubin Kazan.
The 32-year-old has missed his side's opening two fixtures in the Europa League against Zulte and Maribor but will get his first taste of European football on Thursday against the Russian side.
He told Sky Sports News: "I am looking forward to this. I came here for challenges and this is certainly one I came to get involved in. I just can't wait to get out there."
The striker has scored two goals in seven games for the Latics this season.
