Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez has urged Mauro Boselli to improve his Premier League form after the striker bagged a brace against West Ham United on Tuesday night.
A double from the Argentinian was the highlight of Wigan's 4-1 Capital One Cup triumph at Upton Park and Martinez now expects the 27-year-old to be a big asset for the Latics this season.
The Spaniard said: "He looked strong, he looked very sharp with his build-up play and then that clinical finishing in front of goal.
"I was very, very pleased with his work, it is now a matter of allowing him to settle into the Barclays Premier League.
"He showed mental strength and how focused he is to be a success this season and to enjoy his football. If he is at his best he will be a real asset for us."
Boselli moved to the DW Stadium from Estudiantes in 2010.
