Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez has described his side's Premier League survival as "an incredible achievement".
The Latics' 1-0 win at Blackburn Rovers moved them five points clear of the relegation zone with one game remaining.
"It doesn't seem real yet. It is a great feeling," the Spaniard told BBC Sport.
"It was a difficult game, you could feel the tension and it was a cagey affair. But staying up is an incredible achievement."
Wigan have won six of their last eight matches.
