Everton striker Nikica Jelavic will reportedly hold talks with Toffees boss Roberto Martinez this week in a bid to clarify his position in the new manager's pecking order at Goodison Park.
Jelavic returned from an extended break for pre-season training yesterday after being allowed extra time to recover from international duty.
The Croatian now wants to find out where he stands under Martinez and will hold talks this week over his chances of earning a starting spot, according to The Mirror.
Despite a strong start to life on Merseyside, the 27-year-old struggled for goals last season, scoring nine times in 43 appearances for the Toffees.
Martinez has already added competition for places in attack at Goodison this summer, signing former Wigan Athletic player Arouna Kone in a cut-price deal.
