Wigan Athletic have reportedly contacted Manchester City over an emergency loan for Jack Rodwell.
The Latics have lost central-midfield duo Ben Watson and Chris McCann to long-term injuries and Rodwell would help the club's push for promotion in the final months of the season.
Wigan manager Uwe Rosler is a former City player and wants to give England international Rodwell some first-team football as he is struggling to make appearances for City.
This season, the 23-year-old has appeared just three times in the Premier League and City are willing to let him go out on loan, according to The Mirror.
Rodwell moved to the Etihad from Everton back in summer 2012. The Toffees are reportedly weighing up a move to bring him back this summer.
