FC Twente sensationally struck two goals in second-half injury time to clinch a dramatic 3-2 win against Willem II in this afternoon's Eredivisie clash at De Grolsch Veste.
The hosts opened the scoring in the 12th minute with their first chance on goal when Younes Mokhtar found space in the box before slotting the ball into the far corner of the net.
However, the visitors levelled proceedings in spectacular fashion on the half-hour mark, Ben Sahar laying the ball off to Ali Messaoud, who then let rip with a shot that flew into the top corner past the helpless Sonny Stevens.
And midway through the second half, Willem II found themselves in front when their goalscorer turned provider to set up Robbie Haemhouts, who fired home with a composed shot.
Twente saw their chances of mounting a comeback hindered when Renato Tapia was sent off in the 81st minute for a strong challenge on Samuel Armenteros.
However, Andreas Bjelland appeared to have salvaged a point for the home side in the 91st minute when he slotted home past Kostas Lamprou.
But it would get even better for Twente because right at the death, Torgeir Boerven scored a third goal for his side to send the home fans into delirium.
The result means that Twente remain in the hunt for a European place as they climb to sixth in the Eredivisie table, while Willem II sit 12th.
