Wolverhampton Wanderers' most valuable players

Sports Mole takes a look at the most valuable players in the Wolverhampton Wanderers squad.

Wolverhampton Wanderers will be one of the clubs hoping that the 2019-20 Premier League campaign will be allowed to resume in the coming weeks.

Nuno Espirito Santo's side have again been impressive this season and currently sit sixth in the table, just five points off fourth-placed Chelsea heading into the final straight.

Wolves would fancy their chances of challenging for a top-four spot should play be allowed to resume, although it remains to be seen whether that is a possibility due to the coronavirus outbreak.

A number of individuals have again enjoyed impressive seasons for the former Championship winners, and here Sports Mole takes a look at the club's most valuable players.

Raul Jimenez and Ruben Neves's respective values of £36m are slightly on the low side, but it is not a surprise to see the pair at the top of the list. Indeed, Neves has been excellent for the club since arriving from Porto, while Jimenez has also proved to be a huge success since making the move to English football.

Diogo Jota and Adama Traore are next in the selection, and it could again be argued that their valuations are low considering their talent. Jota has scored 15 times in all competitions this season, while Traore has chipped in with six goals and 10 assists, leading to a host of transfer speculation.

Three key players in the shape of Rui Patricio, Matt Doherty and Jonny are also high in the rankings, but it is a surprise that Conor Coady and Willy Boly are towards the middle of the list rather than the top.

Both Coady and Boly have been key to the team's success over the last couple of seasons, and the fact that they are only just above the likes of Daniel Podence and Pedro Neto is a surprise due to their importance.

Ming-yang Yang is bottom of the list with a valuation of just £225,000; the 24-year-old has not made a single appearance for the club since arriving in 2017, while Phil Ofosu-Ayeh, who has also never made a first-team outing for the Premier League club, is second from bottom.

Experienced goalkeeper John Ruddy's presence towards the bottom of the list is not a surprise, but Romain Saiss, who has made 39 appearances in all competitions this season, will surely feel that he deserves a better placing and indeed a higher market value (£3.6m).

Morgan Gibbs-White has enormous potential, but the 20-year-old has struggled for regular action this season due to injury and therefore it is not a surprise to see him fairly low.

Joao Moutinho is actually just above Gibbs-White; the midfielder will be 34 in September but has a contract at Molineux until the summer of 2022 and remains a key player for Nuno.
