Defensive woes ruin Kenny Jackett's "surreal" return to Millwall

Kenny Jackett rues more poor defending from Wolves as they throw away a three-goal lead to draw with Millwall on his first return to The Den since leaving for Molineux.

Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Kenny Jackett lamented his side's continued defensive woes after they collapsed on his "surreal" return to Millwall this afternoon.

Jackett was managing at The Den for the first time since leaving Millwall in 2013 and watched his Wolves team throw away a three-goal lead in the second half to draw 3-3 in a thrilling Championship clash.

The 52-year-old has admitted that Wanderers, who have conceded 11 goals in their last four games, need to improve defensively, but could at least take positives from the warm reception that he received from the Lions fans.

"Our goals-against column is very high at the moment and that is something that we need to improve on because, if we are going to be successful, you have to be better," he told reporters.

"I saw a side that put a lot of pressure on us with diagonal balls and we needed to win headers right the way across our back line. Millwall have a fantastic team spirit and, when things get going, the fans really get behind the team. Those qualities are still there as they try to establish themselves and move up the division.'

"It was surreal [coming back]. Time has gone quickly and two summers have gone past very quickly. I was very appreciative of the reception that I got from the supporters and staff alike."

Jackett spent six years at Millwall, helping them to promotion from League One and consolidating them in the Championship.
