Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Kenny Jackett insists that his side "didn't deserve to lose" at Huddersfield Town.

Kenny Jackett has insisted that his Wolverhampton Wanderers side "didn't deserve" to lose at Huddersfield Town this afternoon.

Nahki Wells found the net for the hosts to leave Wolves without a win in six league games and all but end their ambitions of reaching the Championship playoffs this season.

"I felt we were unfortunate to get beaten today and didn't deserve to lose," Jackett told the club's official website. "It was a battle today – both sides had to play the conditions and it was a scrappy game. There was a strong wind coming down and we had to try and get through to half time and dominate in the second half.

"Huddersfield probably had the better of it in the first half but we defended well. And in that second half I felt we had the better of it and the better opportunities. We got on top of them and they couldn't get out. But Nahki Wells needed one chance and he took it and that proved decisive and the key moment.

"I was pleased with the effort and application of the players but it is about results and so it is disappointing."

Jackett's men, who are now 13th in the table, next face Brentford at Griffin Park on Tuesday before taking on promotion-chasers Derby County at Molineux next weekend.
