Full-back Matt Doherty has signed a new three-year contract with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The 19-year-old Irishman made only his third appearance during yesterday's 5-0 Carling Cup victory over Millwall.
Manager Mick McCarthy revealed that he was "delighted" that the teenager had committed his future to the club.
"He reminds me a lot of Kev Foley in the way he plays," McCarthy told the club's official website.
"He has another really solid and mature performance. He's just signed a new contract and I'm delighted with him.
"The Doc was great against Millwall and his use of the ball was as good as anybody's."
Doherty made his Wolves debut in January during an FA Cup tie against Doncaster Rovers.
