The departing Terry Connor receives praise from Matt Murray and Karl Henry.

Both Matt Murray and Karl Henry have thanked Terry Connor for the contribution that he made to their careers during his 13-year stint at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The club decided to part company with the assistant manager earlier this week, despite his being informed that his services were still required by the club during the summer when Stale Solbakken took charge.

"TC helped me through so many different things, far too many to mention," former Wolves goalkeeper Murray told the club's official website. "I think when you're a young player working with a coach as we did with TC, he's not only your coach but also your role model.

"And he's also gone on to become a really good friend as well.

"When I was going through my injury troubles he was always there on the other end of the phone with good advice."

Skipper Henry also added: "TC has made a great contribution to Wolves over the years and to me since I came to the club. The manager has come in with fresh ideas and has decided to go down a different route going forward.

"But TC will be missed around the place and will be remembered for his achievements over the last 13 years.

"We all wish TC the very best for what the future holds and I am sure he will do a great job in whatever opportunity comes up next."

Connor had an interim spell in charge of Wolves last season but was unable to keep them in the Premier League.
