Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Nuno Espirito Santo has described Jorge Mendes as "the best agent in the world".
The West Midlanders, owned by Chinese firm Fosun, have been working with Mendes to help build a squad capable of challenging for promotion to the Premier League.
A number of high-profile signings, including Porto's Ruben Neves and Atletico Madrid's Diogo Jota, have been made by Wolves, significant coups for a club in the second tier of English football.
Nuno told The Sun: "I will always say that [the club's connections with Mendes are good] because you're talking about the best agent in the world.
"So he has the best players. So if us, Wolves, have a chance to get access to this profile of players, it's better for us.
"But that doesn't say we are not open and alert to all the situations in the market. Regardless of who is the agent. It is all about the player, what he can give us as a team."
Wolves began the 2017-18 Championship season with a 1-0 win over Middlesbrough on Saturday.
