Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Jamie O'Hara has reported Leon Knight to the police over the Twitter row that has erupted between the two.
The row began when Knight allegedly abused O'Hara's new wife Danielle (nee Lloyd) on the social networking site.
O'Hara responded to the former Chelsea player, and has now claimed that he has informed the police about the 29-year-old's comments.
"To all people asking me about Leon knight this is now in the hands of the police and my lawyers, jealousy is the the route to all evil," said O'Hara.
Knight responded by implying that he had been telling the truth all along: "How you gonna call the police lol ... If you do a credit check now you will see not one tweet has been lies #lordknows lol."
He later tweeted simply "#FOS = freedom of speech."
Knight is currently without a club after being released by Glentoran earlier this summer.
