Jamie O'Hara: 'We have to stick together'

Jamie O'Hara calls for Wolverhampton Wanderers to rally together following the sacking of Mick McCarthy.

Jamie O'Hara believes that it is up to the players to unite together and move on from the blow of losing manager Mick McCarthy this week.

Wolves dismissed McCarthy this week following a crushing 5-1 defeat to Black Country rivals West Bromwich Albion last Sunday.

"It was difficult to see the gaffer leave and the lads were gutted to see him go," O'Hara told the club's official website. "It's been us who have been putting in the bad performances. He'd done a lot for the club.

"I've only been here a short time but I loved working for him and think he is a fantastic manager. I just hope everyone remembers what he achieved at the club."

The favourite to replace the former Sunderland boss is Alan Curbishley, who has been out of management since he left West Ham United in 2008.

"We've got to move on as a club and a team and stick together and see what happens," O'Hara added. "I am sure we will all find out what's happening with the new manager over the next few days.

"Whoever comes in we will all get behind him and give him 100% and try and get out of trouble."

Wolves are out of action this weekend due to FA Cup fixtures, which means that they could have a new manager by the time they take to the field for a Premier League match against Newcastle United next Saturday.
