How Wolverhampton Wanderers could line up for their first game back

Sports Mole looks at how Wolverhampton Wanderers could line up for their first match back after lockdown, when they are expected to face West Ham United.

Given their efforts in the Europa League, Wolverhampton Wanderers were probably in need of a break more so than many of their rivals.

However, Wolves had momentum before the enforced suspension of the Premier League, picking up nine points from their most recent five matches.

That return has left Nuno Espirito Santo's team in sixth position, five points adrift of fourth-placed Chelsea.

Ahead of a potential restart fixture at West Ham United on June 20, Sports Mole takes a look at how Wolves could line up at the London Stadium.

Doubtful: Morgan Gibbs-White (other)

Throughout his time at Molineux, Nuno has opted against frequent rotation, and that may prove to be the case during the closing games of the season.

Providing that each of his first-choice XI are available, there should be no surprises when it comes to his next starting lineup.

Having had time to rest a persistent shoulder problem, Adama Traore is expected to be named on the right flank, alongside Diogo Jota and Raul Jimenez in the final third.

Jonny Otto has also shaken off the knock which kept him out of the games before lockdown, meaning that the Spaniard is favourite to play at left wing-back.

Should Nuno choose to go with two central midfielders and three players further forward, rather than the reverse combination, Leander Dendoncker will likely be the player to miss out.

At this time, the sole selection issue appears to concern Morgan Gibbs-White, who may not be involved if Nuno chooses to act on his alleged breach of lockdown regulations.
