A brace from Henri Lansbury and a strike from Lewis McGugan gives Nottingham Forest a 3-1 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers at the City Ground.

A brace from Henri Lansbury and a strike from Lewis McGugan was enough to give Nottingham Forest their fifth win in a row in the Championship over 10-man Wolverhampton Wanderers this afternoon.

Billy Davies's side thought they had started the game in perfect fashion when Andy Reid found Simon Cox, who slid the ball into the net only to be flagged for offside.

Forest were getting a grip on the game and took the lead in the 31st minute when Lansbury fired the ball past Carl Ikeme into the bottom corner.

Wolves were almost level immediately but Bakary Sako's free kick clattered off the bar and Bjorn Sigurdarson somehow missed the target with the rebound effort.

Lewis McGugan had a great chance to double his side's lead but lifted his volley over the bar when well placed in the penalty area.

This was to cost Forest as Wolves equalised though Matt Doherty looped a header over Karl Darlow from Sako's corner.

Dean Saunders's side's joy was to last only minutes however, as they fell behind again when Lansbury got his second of the game as drilled home from Andy Reid's cross.

Wolves' problems got worse as they were reduced to 10 men when Stephen Ward was sent off after bringing down Greg Halford as he looked to counter-attack upfield.

McGugan sealed the win as he fired past Ikeme in the dying minutes.
