Chem Campbell has reportedly agreed to sign a new long-term contract with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Premier League club are currently without a head coach after making the decision to part ways with Bruno Lage at the start of the month.

Although Steve Davis and James Collins are currently overseeing senior matters on a temporary basis, Wolves hope to make an appointment as soon as possible with former Sevilla boss Julen Lopetegui known to be the priority choice.

Nevertheless, according to Football Insider, club officials continue to be proactive when it comes to securing the futures of their prospects.

Campbell's contract is due to expire at the end of the season, forcing the West Midlands outfit to speed up negotiations with the youngster's representatives.

Despite being highly-regarded behind the scenes for a number of years, Campbell has only recently broken into the first-team setup on a regular basis.

In Wolves' last two Premier League fixtures, the 19-year-old has made 18-minute cameos against West Ham United and Chelsea respectively.

The former Wales Under-17 international now has a total of five substitute outings in the top flight to his name, while a start came in the EFL Cup back in 2019-20.

His most eye-catching performances have come at Premier League 2 level, contributing 13 goals and 10 assists from 46 outings.

However, there is every expectation that Campbell will receive more chances over the coming month, a consequence of Pedro Neto, Raul Jimenez and Sasa Kalajdzic all spending time on the sidelines.

Although the report does not specify the length of contract which is said to have been agreed, Wolves have handed a minimum of three-year contracts when negotiating previous deals with some of their starlets.

Campbell will hope to come under consideration for his first Premier League start when Wolves play host to Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon. body check tags ::
