Wolverhampton Wanderers chief executive Jez Moxey has revealed that the club could tie up a deal for Vadim Demidov in the next "24 to 48 hours".
The Norwegian international defender has been at Molineux for his medical after a a fee was agreed with Real Sociedad.
The 25-year-old is thought to be considering his options amid reported interest from German side Eintracht Frankfurt.
Moxey now hopes that the move can be concluded in the next couple of days.
"It's still ongoing at the moment," he told the Express & Star.
"Hopefully we'll have something to say in the next 24 to 48 hours, but it's not as clear-cut as some people would like it to be.
"There's interest in him from other clubs and we're looking at other targets as well."
Demidov joined Sociedad from Norwegian club Rosenborg in July 2010.
