Wolverhampton Wanderers allegedly registered an interest in PSV Eindhoven winger Steven Bergwijn before the end of the summer transfer window.
After another strong campaign with the Eredivisie outfit last season, Bergwijn was linked with a switch to the Premier League, with Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur all said to have been keen on the Netherlands international.
However, according to El Desmarque, Wolves were also monitoring any developments with the 21-year-old as they considered their options in the final third.
The report claims that Wolves emerged as a potential destination for Bergwijn during the closing weeks of the window, which shut for the West Midlands outfit on August 8.
Bergwijn has since penned a contract extension with PSV, a club which he has been with since his childhood.
