The FIFA task force has officially recommended that Qatar 2022 should be played in November and December in order to avoid the soaring temperatures in the summer.
The regular June to July dates of a World Cup campaign have been questioned with regards to the Qatar bid due to the danger that the heat could cause to players and spectators.
Overnight, reports emerged claiming that chair of the task force Salman Bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa had ruled out a summer tournament, and now it has been confirmed, but is yet to be ratified.
The recommendation, which also includes the prospect of the tournament being shortened by a few days, will be put to FIFA's executive committee next month.
Should the World Cup dates change for the Qatar tournament, the English Premier League will be seriously impacted as the season runs from August to May.
