Juventus striker Fernando Llorente has insisted that he accepts Vincente del Bosque's decision to omit him from Spain's squad to face Italy.
Llorente, along with Fernando Torres, Roberto Soldado and David Villa, hasn't been included for the fixture in Madrid, but the former Athletic Bilbao forward remains hopeful that he can force his way back into contention before the end of the campaign.
The 29-year-old told Cadena Cope: "It would be a shame not to go to the World Cup but there is still a long time before the next squad is named. I will do my best.
"I need to accept Del Bosque's decision. I would have liked to have been in the squad but Diego Costa is having an incredible season."
Llorente has netted 13 goals in all competitions this season.
