Ricky Modeste struck in the second half to earn Dover Athletic a point from their Conference clash against Wrexham this evening.
The visitors were the first to threaten as they won a corner, which was nearly converted by Sean Francis at the back post, but he guided his effort narrowly over the bar.
Wrexham took the lead in the 38th minute when a corner travelled right through the box and into the path of Jay Harris, who fired a volley through a crowd of players and into the net.
Louis Moult nearly doubled his side's advantage as he raided forward and struck a powerful drive from distance, but Dover keeper Mitch Walker was on hand to make the stop.
In the second half, Dover brought themselves level when the home side failed to clear a loose ball in their own box and substitute Modeste was on hand to turn the ball home.
The visitors were handed the chance to take the lead when they won a penalty minutes later. Stefan Payne took the spot kick, but his strike was tame and easily saved by Andy Coughlin.
Wrexham could have taken all three points from the clash as Nicky Deverdics collected a cross at the back post, but he could only put his effort wide of the post.
