The half-time whistle has blown at Adams Park with League Two rivals Wycombe Wanderers and Portsmouth level at 0-0.
Wycombe forward Matt McClure came close to breaking the deadlock on seven minutes when his long-range effort was tipped onto the crossbar by Pompey goalkeeper Trevor Carson.
Portsmouth then had a tentative penalty claim turned down midway through the half. Jake Jervis went down under pressure from Marvin McCoy, but the referee correctly waved play on.
Wycombe, whose attack has looked the more dangerous so far, forced Carson into another two saves just before the break.
The on-loan Bury keeper produced a vital block to keep out McClure's arrowed effort and denied Reece Styche's powerful attempt moments later.
