Nigel Worthington has maintained that York City's aim this season is to avoid relegation from League Two.
The Minstermen are 11th in the table with 39 points.
However, despite being closer to the playoff spots than the relegation zone, Worthington insists that he is not getting carried away.
"We have to get to 50 points. That is the target. There is still a lot of work to reach that total so we have to focus on that and that only. Obviously, the quicker we get there the better," Worthington told the Yorkshire Post.
"But I maintain that is our objective. We will only get there if we continue to work hard. Nothing else will do."
York, who play Southend today, have eight points from their last six matches.
