Zenit St Petersburg midfielder Alex Witsel has confirmed that talks have taken place about a possible move to Juventus this summer.
Witsel played a key role in the Zenit side that won the Russian Premier League this season, and the 26-year-old's form appears to have caught the attention of Juventus, who are believed to face a battle to keep Paul Pogba and Arturo Vidal at the club.
"I'm 26 years old, the best age to try a new experience," the Belgian told Sudinfo. "I always said that I did not want to leave Zenit without lifting the league title. It's done.
"There have been discussions [with Juve] and they are continuing. This is a super team with a beautiful project to become again what it was in the days of [Zinedine] Zidane and [Pavel] Nedved.
"The contact is ongoing, with both me and Zenit. [Turin] is a destination that could suit me."
Witsel moved to Zenit on a five-year deal from Benfica in 2012.
