Zenit St Petersburg bid around £8m for AC Milan full-back Ignazio Abate, according to reports.

Russian giants Zenit St Petersburg are the latest team to table a bid for an AC Milan player, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Zenit have reportedly made an offer of around £8m for Italian international full-back Ignazio Abate as they look to add to their small Azzurri contingent.

Domenico Criscito has been at Zenit since 2011, with the big-spending Russians also coached by the experienced Italian Luciano Spalletti.

Milan have already sold Brazilian striker Alexandre Pato this month as the quest to balance the books continues at the San Siro.
