Lewis Hamilton has taken a giant stride towards his fourth Formula 1 world title with victory in the Japanese Grand Prix.
Title rival Sebastian Vettel retired early on, dropping out four laps into the race after slipping down the field from the start with an engine problem.
Victory for Hamilton sees the Mercedes driver leading Vettel by 59 points with 100 available in the remaining four races.
The Briton will clinch the title at the next race - the United States Grand Prix in Austin, Texas - if he wins and Vettel finishes lower than fourth.
Elsewhere in the rankings, the Red Bulls of Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo were once again very strong and finished in second and third.
Hamilton's Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas, meanwhile, finished fourth, one place ahead of Vettel's Ferrari colleague Kimi Raikkonen.
