Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso will not be replacing Mark Webber at Red Bull for the 2014 season, insists his head of management Flavio Briatore.

Fernando Alonso will not be making a switch from Ferrari to Red Bull next season, the head of his management team has insisted.

The reigning Constructors' champions are looking for a replacement for Mark Webber for the 2014 campaign, after the Australian driver announced that he will retire at the end of this year.

Red Bull boss Christian Horner has refused to deny reports that they are targeting Alonso, who has been in a Ferrari seat since 2010, to race alongside Sebastian Vettel, but the Spaniard's representative, former Renault chief Flavio Briatore, has stressed that his client is more than happy where he is.

When asked whether the Spaniard is tempted to join Red Bull, Briatore replied: "No. No temptation whatsoever."

"Fernando has a contract and contracts must be respected," Briatore told La Gazzetta dello Sport. "Alonso has never said he wants to leave. Ferrari-Alonso remains a winning pairing."

Two-time world champion Alonso is currently third in the Drivers' Standings behind leader Vettel and Lotus's Kimi Raikkonen.
