Kimi Raikkonen reportedly has three races to save his career with Ferrari, with the Italian giant unimpressed by his form.
The Finn's performances in 2015 have been overshadowed by those of Sebastian Vettel since his move from Red Bull over the winter.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Ferrari's "option" to keep Raikkonen at the Scuderia expires on July 31, which would mean that the 2007 world champion has races in Austria, Britain and Hungary to prove himself.
Among the names touted to replace Raikkonen, should he leave, are Williams's Valtteri Bottas and Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo.
It is thought that Ricciardo's contract with the Milton Keynes-based constructor is sealed for 2016.
However, Bottas has recently been linked with a drive away from Williams after this season.
