Lotus boss Eric Boullier believes that his team are capable of finishing second in the constructors' championship if they can keep their current form going.
The Enstone outfit are currently fourth in the standings 33 points adrift of second-placed Ferrari, but have scored 35 points more than their Italian rivals in the last two races in Japan and Korea.
Boullier told reporters: "If we continue as we have done for the last few races, then mathematically second in the standings becomes a very attainable target.
"We need points to help us with our Championship fight and you score the most points when you're spraying the champagne!"
Lotus's next chance to score points will be at the Indian Grand Prix next weekend.
