Romain Grosjean has admitted that Lotus struggled to find pace in today's qualifying session for the Singapore Grand Prix.
Grosjean set the fastest time in Q1 but could only manage eighth on the grid, which led to the Frenchman's frustration at the inconsistency.
"We had to try something in Q3, it was okay until turn 8 when we had big wheelspin," Sky Sports News quotes Grosjean as saying. "
We lacked some grip in the last part of qualifying, but everybody managed to improve and we didn't.
"A lot of people said that we were favourites here in Singapore but we are struggling quite a lot. We've been trying to solve our issues; we still have some and we need to understand why."
Grosjean is currently eighth in the drivers' standings.
