Jenson Button says that he is not planning to join Ferrari, with exciting times ahead at McLaren.

Jenson Button has brushed off reports linking him with Ferrari by stating that he wants to be at McLaren when the team switches to a Honda engine in 2015.

The 33-year-old, who is yet to receive a contract for next season, spent six years with the BAR team, which later became Honda, between 2003 and 2008.

He said that he is looking forward to getting back into a car powered by the Japanese manufacturer.

"I want to be here in 2015," he told reporters. "That is an important year, I think. I've worked for many years with that Japanese engine manufacturer, it will be exciting to work with them again in the future."

Addressing the question of links to Ferrari, he replied: "I am loyal. In the past sometimes I haven't been.

"I think if you are with a smaller team that you can't see a future with, it's the right thing to always look for something better. But when you are with a team like this with the future that this team has, this is a very exciting opportunity for any driver."

The Formula 1 season heads to Monza for the Italian Grand Prix this weekend.
