Lewis Hamilton: 'Brazilian Grand Prix was smooth sailing for me'

Lewis Hamilton claims that he found the chaotic Brazilian Grand Prix "smooth sailing" as he won at Interlagos for the first time in his career.

Lewis Hamilton has described today's Brazilian Grand Prix as one of the most "smooth-sailing" races he has ever had.

The wet conditions caused chaos at Interlagos, with five safety cars and two red flags disrupting the penultimate race of the season.

However, Hamilton remained untroubled as he led from the start and picked up a crucial victory that ensures the battle for the title will go down to the final week in Abu Dhabi.

"I was generally just chilling out front. When it rains, it is usually a good day for me. There were no mistakes, no issues, no spins. It was interesting to hear how many people were spinning behind me, but I didn't have that problem," he told reporters.

"Today was one of the most difficult, in terms of it being wet, but it was probably the most smooth-sailing race I have ever had in 10 years.

"I am hunting. All I can do is what I am doing right now. The team have given me a great car and finally the reliability has been really good so the results have shown that. I am going to give it everything I have got in Abu Dhabi, but right now I am going to live in the moment."

Hamilton will win the title in Abu Dhabi if he finishes first and Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg fails to finish on the podium.
