Lewis Hamilton claimed pole position during the qualification process for his home race at the British Grand Prix this afternoon.
On his last attempt, the Mercedes driver posted a time of 1:29.307, which is the fastest ever lap for pole at Silverstone since the track was redesigned.
His 28th pole saw him finish ahead of teammate Nico Rosberg, who will start alongside him on the grid, while champion Sebastian Vettel ended up third.
Meanwhile, Ferrari's Fernando Alonso will start tomorrow's race in 10th, with Jenson Button a place further back.
