Nico Rosberg hints that he was ignored by Mercedes at the Chinese Grand Prix, where he finished second to keep his position at the top of the drivers' standings.

Nico Rosberg was relieved to record a podium finish at the Chinese Grand Prix after claiming that he had "no communication" with his Mercedes team.

The German finished second behind colleague Lewis Hamilton at the Shanghai International Circuit, but still stressed that he had endured a miserable week.

He hinted that Mercedes ignored him to prioritise Hamilton, but Rosberg also highlighted positives such as his position at the top of the drivers' standings and the performance of the car in his excellent start to the season.

"I am still in the lead in the Constructors Championship and that's good considering the whole weekend went really bad for me," he told reporters.

"I had no communication with the team, so they had no idea what I was doing. I am pleased with second and I just look forward to Spain now and getting back to having everything working.

"It really is a pleasure to drive this car at the moment, it is so quick and it increases the enjoyment level even more."

Rosberg is four points ahead of Hamilton, having secured podium finishes in all four races this campaign.
