Nico Rosberg positive after Monza result

Nico Rosberg is adamant that his second-place finish at the Italian Grand Prix was a good result.

Nico Rosberg has insisted that he enjoyed a positive weekend at the Italian Grand Prix, despite seeing his championship lead cut to 22 points.

The German was leading at Monza when an error under braking saw him miss the first chicane, allowing Lewis Hamilton to take the lead and hold on for victory, but Rosberg refuses to focus on that mistake.

He told reporters: "Even though it didn't work out quite the way I'd hoped, there were still plenty of positives to take away from Monza.

"Once again our Silver Arrow looked super quick compared to our rivals and hopefully we can carry that right through to the end of the season.

"Of course, I was disappointed to drop points to my teammate in the championship battle, but I still have the lead and I'm determined to hold on to it."

The Mercedes pair will next do battle under the lights at next weekend's Singapore Grand Prix.
