Lewis Hamilton is hopeful of securing a renewed contract with Mercedes despite still having 18 months left on his current deal.
The 29-year-old, currently second in the drivers' rankings, has won five races already this season and could earn up to £70m over a new three-year deal.
Hamilton told reporters: "I'm sure something will happen this year. I've made it clear to them that I'm not out to see what else there is for me.
"Mercedes has been my family since I started F1 and I don't see that changing any time soon."
The 2008 world champion has earned 176 points this season and currently trails his Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg by 14 points in the rankings.
Hamilton was fastest in the second practice session ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix on Sunday.
