Red Bull's Max Verstappen slams Sebastian Vettel for the Ferrari star's "ridiculous" expletive-ridden rant during the Mexican Grand Prix.

Red Bull's Max Verstappen has hit out at Sebastian Vettel following the Ferrari driver's expletive-ridden radio rant during the Mexican Grand Prix.

In a battle for third position towards the end of the race, Vettel launched a tirade at Verstappen when the 19-year-old failed to give up his position after running off the track.

The four-time world champion also hit out at Ferrari race director Charlie Whiting while receiving instructions over the radio. Vettel could be heard saying: "You know what, here's the message to Charlie: fuck off! Honestly fuck off."

As a result of a late tussle on the track, Vettel was promoted to third after Verstappen was handed a five-second penalty, but the former Red Bull driver was eventually demoted to fifth for blocking Daniel Ricciardo, who took third.

When asked about Vettel's rant, Verstappen told Sky Sports News: "I think he needs to go back to school. It's just ridiculous. I will speak to him. He is always frustrated. He is just a very frustrated guy."

Mercedes star Lewis Hamilton ended up winning the race, which leaves him 19 points behind championship leader Nico Rosberg with 50 points available from the final two grands prix.
