Aston Martin team leader Mike Krack now acknowledges that the team is assessing the prospect of bringing Adrian Newey on board.
During the Miami event, Krack initially responded to queries about Aston Martin's rumored pursuit of the departing Red Bull technical expert by stating, "We are quite happy with our technical team and we continue with them."
Subsequently, Newey, aged 65, was seen engaging with Aston Martin's wealthy and highly-ambitious owner Lawrence Stroll in the Miami paddock.
Later, when Spanish broadcaster DAZN queried Krack again on Sunday, he subtly altered his earlier comments about Newey.
"I think that as Aston Martin it is important to have our own path," he mentioned. "With the people and the team we have."
"We want to build our success and fight against the strongest. Obviously, if someone of this calibre is available, you have to consider them and value them."
"It's something that we have to evaluate in detail - what they can contribute, the drawbacks, all of that," Krack elaborated.
Interestingly, James Vowles also shared in Miami that he has had "a light conversation" regarding Newey's potential move to Williams.
"I think it could fit very perfectly for someone that wants to potentially dig into a challenge," he stated. "I think anyone here would be foolish not to at least open some conversation with him." body check tags ::
