Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo has claimed that a lack of experience means that Sergio Perez will not be approached by the team in the near future.
The Sauber driver has impressed this season and recent reports have indicated that the Mexican could replace Felipe Massa before the end of this season.
However, di Montezemolo said: "Perez is a good driver, but to drive a Ferrari you need more experience.
"I think he is one of the potential best young drivers for the future, but before putting a young driver in a Ferrari, I need more experience and more results."
Recent speculation has also seen Mark Webber linked with a move to Ferrari.
