Spanish golfer Sergio Garcia has said that he will copy some of Paul McGinley's methods if he is ever named Europe's captain for the Ryder Cup.

McGinley led the Europeans to a third straight success in the biennial event against the United States over the weekend at Gleneagles, with Garcia contributing two-and-a-half of Europe's 16-and-a-half points from his four matches.

Garcia, who was competing at his seventh Ryder Cup, said: "I think [McGinley] has done a great job and I have learned a lot from him.

"Hopefully, one year, in the long-term future, I can bring some of his thoughts into my captaincy. It would be great, it was amazing."

Garcia still remains the youngest-ever Ryder Cup player after his appearance at 19 years old in 1999.
