Justin Rose and Henrik Stenson continued their 100% record together at the 40th Ryder Cup by defeating Team USA's Hunter Mahan and Zach Johnson 2&1 this afternoon.
After convincingly beating Webb Simpson and Bubba Watson this morning in fourballs, Rose and Stenson started well again but blew a two-hole lead on the front nine to be level with Mahan and Johnson at the halfway stage.
The par-three 10th was halved in pars before Johnson missed his birdie putt at 11 as Rose made his to restore the hosts' lead.
It looked like America would restore parity quickly at the 12th, but Rose again found his form with the short stick, holing a lengthy putt to halve the hole.
At 14, Mahan rolled home an eight-footer to level the match, but that would be USA's last victory in this match.
Rose and Stenson won the 15th and 17th to secure victory, with Johnson guilty of missing a short putt at the 17th that would have sent the match down the 18th.
A point for Europe puts them back in front 3.5-2.5 on the overall scoreboard.
