Colin Montgomerie has claimed that it would be "very good for golf" if Tiger Woods won The Masters in Augusta this Sunday.
The world number one, who has been blighted by injuries and personal problems over the last few years, has won three of the five tournaments that he has entered in 2013.
With that in mind he has been installed as the favourite to win this weekend - a view with which Scot Montgomerie agrees.
"If Tiger putts the way he has in the last month, he should win. He seems to be in a much happier place and have his life a little bit more sorted out than he had even last year and I truly believe he's ready now to win a Major. I think it would be very good for golf if he did," he said.
"People are turning on the Masters this year to see if he can do it and the viewing audience will be higher than normal. I'm glad Tiger's back in the frame; we've missed him and the whole Tiger Woods phenomenon."
Woods last won a Major when he triumphed at the 2008 US Masters.
