Matthew Fitzpatrick has carded a first-round score of seven-under-par to take an early lead at the British Masters.
The 21-year-old Englishman edged out Scotland's Marc Warren and compatriot Lee Slattery, despite the latter leading for much of the opening day.
Sweden's Robert Karlsson is also in contention, joining the chasing pack on six-under, but it could have been better had he not bogeyed the 18th.
Elsewhere, Ian Poulter shot an opening round of 68 on his home course, while Luke Donald (67) and Lee Westwood (69) also made solid starts.
This year's Masters in the first to be contested since 2008.
