Hank Haney has questioned whether Tiger Woods will have the desire to return to his best form following a fresh injury setback.
The world number one confirmed on Tuesday that he will miss The Masters after undergoing surgery to fix a pinched nerve in his back, and his former coach Haney believes that injuries may not be the only problem for the 38-year-old.
"I think the biggest issue long term is just Tiger's desire," Haney told SiriusXM. "I don't think it is the injuries. I know everybody will say it is the injuries, but I just don't think that's it.
"I think the biggest issue is going to be his desire, and I think it is just a question of how much is he going to practice, how hard is he going to work?
"Is his body going to allow him to practice and work at it like he used to? And I think going forward that's the biggest issue."
Woods has not won a tournament since last August's Bridgestone Invitational.
