Martin Kaymer has insisted that he is not concerned about his recent poor form ahead of the PGA Championship at Wentworth this week.

The German has failed to record a top-25 finish since February, but he is confident that the work he has done behind the scenes will push him back to contention sooner rather than later after admitting to mistakes before The Masters.

"I probably didn't rest my body as much as I should, and that's what I felt at The Masters. I entered the week and I was very, very tired without even playing," the world number 18 told reporters. "It was not the best way. But it was an experience again and another way to learn, maybe for the future, all those things I should do differently.

"The last couple of weeks I have played well. I said to my caddie this week, 'I'm really excited about the next few weeks and months.'

"I know things, they will fall into place sooner or later, and when you practise hard, it's almost not avoidable to have success. So it will happen. It's just a matter of being patient."

Kaymer has not won a tournament since last year's US Open.
