Taylor Moore has come from behind to win the Valspar Championship to claim his first PGA Tour title.

The American begun the final round behind Adam Schenk, Jordan Spieth and Tommy Fleetwood, but a 67 proved to be enough to secure an unlikely win.

While Moore only reached the turn in one-under-par for his round, none of the trio ahead of him were able to establish the sort of advantage which would make it a three-horse race.

Out of the spotlight until the final holes, Moore birdied the 13th, 15th and 16th holes before making par on the final two holes, his title-clinching putt on 18 coming from five-and-a-half feet.

Moore entered the clubhouse with a share of the lead, yet it proved enough as the players behind them failed to show the same level of consistency.

Schenk has made a number of clutch putts to remain at the top of the leaderboard until the final hole, but his drive on 18 finished against a tree and his lengthy par putt made contact with the hole without entering it.

Spieth matched his playing partner for outstanding putts, a miraculously bogey on 16 coming via a putt from just inside 15 feet to keep him in the tournament only for an easier birdie putt on 17 to go begging, leaving him with too much to do.

Two visits to greenside bunkers on the par-five 14th dented Fleetwood's hopes, and closing with four pars saw him finish in a share of third with Spieth, with Schenk ending one shot adrift of Moore in second.

Wyndham Clark was fifth, defending champion Sam Burns earned sixth, while England's Matt Wallace was one of three players who concluded the tournament in a share of seventh. body check tags ::
