Patrick Cantlay has boosted his Fedex Cup hopes with a one-shot victory at the BMW Championship.
The American went into Sunday's play with a one-shot lead, and a final round score of 69 was enough to secure the win ahead of Scott Stallings.
Bogeys at holes eight and 10 left Cantlay on the back foot, but birdies at the 11th, 14th and 17th ensured that he got over the line in this tournament for the second successive year.
Despite his runners-up spot earning him a place at East Lake for the Finals, Stallings will be disappointed having failed to take opportunities on each of the final hour holes.
Stallings still finished the tournament ahead of Scottie Scheffler and Xander Schauffele, who were both below their best as they ultimately claimed a share of third position.
The round of the day came from Lee Kyoung-hoon who shot a final-round 65 to earn a tie for fifth position, securing a place in the top 30 of the Fedex Cup in the process.
Corey Conners and Adam Scott also crucially finished alongside the South Korean to book their places at the Tour Championship.
Jon Rahm and Rory McIlroy enjoyed encouraging final days to finish inside the top 10, but Ireland's Shane Lowry was the player to miss out on the Finals by one place after bogeying the penultimate hole. body check tags ::
